The Northern Hussle: Meeting the pioneer, Mario Anzola

It isn't unusual for the city of Toronto to Tune in to the sounds and culture of hip hop on the weekends of every month.
What is unusual is what Mario Anzola (producer, pioneer, and visionary) did for the Toronto HIP HOP scene.

We are used to going to venues to see rappers, and DJ's perform, but have you ever been to an event where beat makers make beats on the fly?
Neither did we until we bumped into Anzola at an event that he has established out here in the DOT.
The name of the event is called the "Subtle Blend" a producer showcase event held on the second Friday of every month at the BassLine Music Bar located on Bloor st. W, Toronto.
How did we meet Anzola??? Oh yeah... It was one of our first outings last year around this time (2014). We actually searched through the local "what's happening" Toronto magazine "NOW." We did eenie, meenie, miney, moe with a couple of shows happening that night, and chose to go out and see Anzola.

Since it was one of our first rugged underground movements, we were a little hesitant as to what our reception would be like, we didn't call anybody, we just took our equipment and showed up at their event.
It isn't advised to just pop into people's events unannounced with cameras (not for the faint of hearted).
In any matter, because the bass hadn't come out of our voices to attend the guys at the door of the event yet, we figured we'd grab a bite to eat at a rather interesting Ethiopian restaurant right next door to the venue.

After our well arranged dinner, some dude came by from the event. By the way he was postulating, he seemed to have something to do with the event. My memory doesn't serve me right but Alex says the guy was our guide into the showcase, we spoke to the bartender who then directed us to the organizers.
After a fumbling introduction of who we were, we were introduced to Mario Anzola and Josh Grant (a fellow beat maker) who was an awesome host for the night.
He gave us free reign of the place, and agreed to have us do an interview on him and his event.
Ok, Ok, OK..... let's stop with all this long wind and get to the episode.
