Barbara Nyagomo, the award winning founder of Barbara Nyagomo Foundation Trust, is focused on helping empowering communities in Africa.
The social entrepreneur says that her life revolves around people, business, community and supporting people in need.
She told OneVybe: "I have always been a caring person who likes to serve others.
"I come from very humble beginnings and want to empower others to climb up the social ladder."
Barbara grew up in a farming and mining community in Zimbabwe and after her father left the family when Barbara was eighteen, she actively assisted her mother in raising her siblings.
Watching her mother work hard inspired Barbara to help others and she went on to become a nurse.
Barbara moved to the UK where she worked at the St Thomas Hospital Intensive Care Unit in London, part of the largest ICU team in the UK, and specialised as a critical care nurse.
Barbara decided to go into business after the birth of her second child and since 2007, she has been involved in various charitable causes.

She said "I realised a while ago that I was in a position to be able to help many Zimbabweans and other people around me."
Barbara says "I am actively involved in support of Zimbabwean Asylum seekers; provide small business support, healthcare education and one to one life style support."
"All my work with the community groups and Zimbabwe charity organisations is on voluntary basis using my own money, time and resources.
"This has given me the opportunity to learn more about community integration, human rights, funding, Organising events, working with other Organisations and Agencies."
The projects she has been involved in include human rights issues, community issues, women’s matters and Zimbabwean issues.
In May 2013 Barbara visited Uganda on a Humanitarian Mission to help empower women.
While there, she was involved in workshops in soap-making and bead jewellery making .
BNFoundation, which has also been in the news for assisting at the Masvingo floods, is continuing to do great work but Barbara concedes that it is not easy to control and direct projects in Zimbabwe while she is based in the UK.
BNFoundation still has limited resources because it is self funded but the organisation now has a director in Zimbabwe.
To help Barbara and the BN Foundation continue their great work, mentors, volunteers, donors, fundraisers are needed.
