Suku Ncube, a nurse based in the US, is working hard on building a school for disadvantaged children in Ghana.
Suku embarked on this extraordinary and unexpected journey when she was visiting in Ghana and encountered children whose plight moved her to do something to help.

The preschool the children attended lacked basic supplies needed for education and entertainment.
Through sheer determination, Suku took it upon herself to embark on positive change for the 74 children using her own personal income.
She took over and bought school supplies and uniforms.

It has certainly been a challenging journey for Suku but the rewards have been greater.
She is grateful to the Ghanian government officials for being cooperative and helpful and she was soon given permission to register the school to ensure its smooth running.
The school has been named Suku Foundation and she visits the children in Ghana every two to three months.
Suku has since become involved with another school in the area called Joy Primary School.

Again, through her own personal funds, Suku is now responsible for providing supplies to the 80 children who attend.
Her great work has since inspired several people to do what Suku has achieved and there is more work to be done.
