Talking to OneVybe, Alabi Couture, Meg Alabi, said, "I started modelling for an aunt of mine who owned a boutique in a fashion house in Lagos and I had a photo shoot for her."
The pictures came out in a well known magazine in Nigeria called 'Posh' and the beautiful images made Meg consider a career in modelling, which she says gave her confidence and an opportunity to work with some of the best designers in the country.

Meg did some catwalk training and then worked as a model until 2005, when she decided to open her own boutique, MD's Clothing, which
stocked international designers.
On her career right now, Meg said: "I'm still involved in the modelling
industry because I groom models, I work with modelling competitions and I
scout for models. So it's still part of me, but I don't go on the
runway anymore."

Working in the fashion industry for many years, Meg caught the fashion bug and would design her own clothes.
She told OneVybe that the clothes she designed for herself got more attention that the clothes she imported.
People would ask her to make them the same designs and that was when Meg decided to launch Alabi Couture.

Despite her successful career in fashion, Meg still finds
time to do some charity work and she has helped organise fashion shows for various charities.
Meg said of her charity work,"The Charity Show is my pet project and has been on since I launched my Alabi Couture label in 2011.
"We select a motherless home and make clothes for all the children and staff of the home, then we get some Nigerian celebrities and have a fashion show and party for the children."
The charity fashion shows usually take place every December and the in the past Alabi Couture has worked with, The Heart of Gold Hospice in 2011, The Heritage Home Orphanage 2012, The Living Fountain Home 2013.
