The UK urban music scene has produced some great artists and these include Tinie Tempah, Dizzee Rascal and Wiley.
Most of the artists rise to prominence after many years gaining a huge following on the underground scene.
British producer and rapper DDark is one such star after he started working in the music industry at quite an early age. He played the piano and then in secondary school he got into music programming, MCing and rapping.

DDark has been involved in the UK urban scene for a
long time and in an interview with OneVybe he said: "That led to me
having a show on pirate radio, then legal radio and music videos on TV
channels etc…. I've always loved music and sounds and have a natural
urge to create music."
Almost a decade ago, the fast rising musician was working with the now notable rapper
Tinie Tempah and eventually he started featuring on BBC 1xtra and
Kiss FM and has worked with rapper Chipmunk and produced tracks for
Wretch 32.

To date, the rapper has had a headline
show in Camden, London and has also featured on many underground songs
such as 'On The Block' and 'Temptations', which was broadcast on
Channel U, Flava and MTV Base.
DDark does not specialise in only one genre but is involved in Hip-Hop, R&B, Grime and Dubstep, Funky House,
Electro and Pop and he told OneVybe that it has all
happened quite naturally.
"I would say it's an influence of all
the music I love listening to plus a hint of my character and
personality in there too…I'm inspired by so many things so add it to my
music to give it life and a unique edge," said the rapper.
His
inspiration comes from the music he listens to, his life experiences and
surroundings and he said "I don't have a favourite genre, I just like
good music. If it gets me moving or I sense a vibe from it then I'm good
to go."

The rapper will be releasing some music later this year
and other projects that he has been involved in include the '
Smokeys
Barbers' a hit Youtube sitcom.
'Smokeys Barbers' has been hailed as refreshing by
The Guardian because in it, urban culture is represented 'through something other than rap music or gritty council estate dramas.'
The sitcom has quickly gained a loyal online following and reached hundreds of thousands of views.
Another hit show DDark has been involved with is
'Diary of a Badman' which has also gained a loyal online following.
