Top London producer, OD Hunte, helping up-and-coming artists get ahead
London-based producer, rapper and songwriter OD Hunte is working to help up-and-coming artists after gaining a lot of success working with artists like Emeli Sundae, Leona Lewis and Wretch 32.

Because of his emphasis on strong production values, American rapper Missy Elliott has personally asked Hunte for some of his backing tracks.

Missy wanted the tracks for her artists after hearing Hunte's work with singer Chantal Brown.

Hunte, regarded as one of London's top producers, has been signed to Levels/EMI music publishing which is now evolved into EMI/Sony/ATV.

The producer has also worked with major label artists including those from Atlantic Records US, Sony and BMG.

He has also worked on independent projects and for some years now, Hunte has been working independently with signed artists and up-and-coming artists helping them to create opportunities.

Talking to OneVybe, OD Hunte said: "The main emphasis on what I do is on music production but I have also started to get into artist development, taking a more holistic approach to that.

"Now I'm doing videos as well as doing the music for the artist."

"I work with a variety of artists. In the past I've worked with Emeli Sande who is obviously one of the premier and biggest artists in this country if not the world but have also worked with people who have never been in the recording studio before and everyone in between."

"There is no specific definition to the type of music that I do.

"I initially started doing more hip-hop, soul and R&B but obviously music has changed a lot since I started doing music professionally and R&B and hip-hop and those original art forms are now a lot more pop.

"So I would say that I tend to do a lot more pop music and also with the inclusion of a lot more European influences like dance.

"But having said that I also do 60s 70s Motown type stuff which again is quite authentic to that genre."
