'People like music that's easy to understand' says young producer, CassKidd

Producer, Cassidy Baillie, also known CassKidd, born in South London in 1996, has already worked with an array of impressive names at his young age.

He was introduced to music production at the age of 12 and has since taken his hobby further and is studying at the prestigious BRIT School for Performing Arts.

The BRIT has an alumni that includes Amy Winehouse, Adele, Katy B, Leona Lewis, and Shingai Shoniwa, just to name a few.

Describing his music to OneVybe, CassKidd says, "Overall, I would describe it as 'Anything & Everything' because I don't have a particular taste in a specific genre of music.

"I like bits and pieces of different genres of music, such as HipHop, R&B, Trap, Ambient Post Rock etc.

"But recently, through the internet and various blogs, the term Future RnB is gradually becoming the official title to the sound, style and music I make."

CassKidd, who has so far worked with artists such as DJ Ironik, A.M Sniper, Wiley and Joel Compass, says he never set out to make 'industry sounding music.'

"I think for me, it was mainly the people around me that gave me the belief to actually pursue and take music seriously because growing up, I'd just make music in my bedroom and keep it to myself," says CassKidd.

Fortunately, he did not keep his talent to himself and the young producer has since had a phenomenal response to his music.

"I've learned over the years that, people like music that's easy to understand, uplifting and melodic.

"It sounds weird but it's true. And just by working that out, it's made my ability to make music slightly easier," he tells OneVybe.

CassKidd cites producer S-X as one of his biggest influences saying, "He produced the classic Grime instrumental (Woo Riddim) and now produces HipHop for all the artists in YMCMB, TI's Hustle Gang and other big US artists.

"What inspires me is that he is young and has an iconic production sound and that his production style is in high demand. Plus he's born on the same day as me!"

On the artists he has worked with in the past, CassKidd replies, "This has always been a odd question because in the early days of producing, I would make an instrumentals and upload them to the internet and random artists would make songs to my beats.

"So most times I would search 'CassKidd' on the internet and find out who's made music to my instrumentals.

Since then the producer has worked with A.M Sniper and Wiley for his first official remix, which was of the song, 'Bus Pass.'

"Seeing the process of actually producing the track, seeing it going up on iTunes as MY remix and seeing other verified twitter faces promoting the single at the time. It was pretty sick!" he says, rightfully excited.

"I would love to work with either Little Simz or G Frsh," he said while talking about his future plans.

"I feel that out of all of the UK artists out there, currently these two artists are paying attention to the new type of Alternative HipHop/Future RnB that's slowly making it's way onto the commercial surface."

Releasing fresh music is a fundamental part of what CassKidd does and he aims to improve on his skill-set by learning the piano and becoming more familiar with other music making software other than FL Studio 10, which he uses.

He also intends to keep pushing for more official remixes and said, "I can promise, they'll always be new music from CassKidd."
