Now Or Never: Musings of an amateur photographer
Published: 05 January 2015 | by Janine
I've recently taken up photography and am still in the learning process. The prospect of taking my camera out and about for practice shots was initially very daunting. My camera stayed unused in its box for several weeks because I didn't know where and how to start.
I finally decided to go to the library and get some books on photography. I got a few hints and tips on how to be creative and get abstract pictures.
I was thrilled with the pictures I got from my first night out using slow shatter speed. I love these abstract shapes from the night lights.
After a few pictures I realised I could make fun shapes depending on the direction I moved my camera.
The speed I moved the camera at also gave me interesting shapes.
It was a fun night and for an amateur like myself I couldn't be happier with the results. I'll be out again soon to try out some other ways of getting interesting photographs.
Comments, hints and tips are welcome.
