A Film graduate from the University of South Wales has been nominated for a BAFTA for Channel 4's The Undateables.
Carla Berzon, who graduated in 2008 from the University's international film school, is one of the team of producers behind hit show's second series.
The documentary has been shortlisted in the Reality and Constructed Factual category.
The Undateables follows several extraordinary singletons as they enter the dating circuit in pursuit of love.
Carla produced and directed the 're-visit' episode, which caught up with the original Undateables to see how their lives had changed since the first series.
She explains: "The Film course at the University gave me the tools and knowledge to enter into the documentary television industry. My graduation film, made in the third year, was viewed by highly regarded Director Producer Jo Abel at a screening in London, who then hired me on her next project, BBC4's 'The Grandparents Diaries'.
"I spent the year after graduating networking, drinking lots of coffee and handing out my show reel, which was created at the University of South Wales. The networking paid off, and helped me to be hired again and again, working my way up the ladder, and getting my first Producer Director role in 2012 on The Undateables.
"I'm thrilled to have been part of such a brilliant series and so pleased that it has been nominated for such a prestigious award. I believe that my success is largely down to my inspiring lecturers, who encouraged and nurtured my interest in documentary film."
The British Academy Television Awards will be held on May 12th in London.
